Pool time

Wait, it gets up to 90 degrees (Farenheit, that is) in Seattle? An inconvenient truth these days, I guess. But, making lemonade out of this heat wave, we got a new pool and I lost my clothes. Marco!

Polo!

Orcas Island Vacation - The Events

The cabins. That's Elise and me on the beach.

Sunsets were nice, to say the least. I actually got to stay up for this one.

Climbing Mt. Constitution is a must-do activity. The view never disappoints. Hello to Bellingham in the background.

Hiking.

Fishing.

My 2nd food: yams. Hated the taste, loved the feel.

Lounging at the beach.

"Swimming."

Orcas Island Vacation - The People

Almost the whole gang (Mom had to take the picture) in front of our cabin.

Auntie Elise thought I looked good in shades so she put some on, too.

Great Aunt Sandy helped me read (and eat) my book.

Great Uncle Ralph, Ph.D. talked science with me.

Grandpa Ken, M.P.A.(?) made me laugh.

Josh also copied my sunglasses look. These Californians are catching on fast . . .

Grandma Marie made me smile. Apparently I do this a lot.

First day of Summer, again

Summer was here in May, and then went away for a while. Now it's back for a few days and I was eager to break out my gear. Don't mess with me when I'm in leisure mode.

MY FIRST MEAL!!!

Today I tried my first food - avocado with some breast milk and garlic . . . it was quite an event. Even though I am a little shy of 6 months, I was oh so ready to try eating. Mom and dad may have taken some photos to document each second.

Ten steps of the first meal:
1) Getting a good look at the green slurry.

2) First bite . . .

3) First reaction - hmmmmmmmm

4) I love it! Give me the spoon!

5) I can feed myself

6) Slow down - a little overwhelmed

7) Getting down and dirty now

8) All in

9) Almost done - who needs a spoon?

10) Clean up time! Yes, even between my toes!

What fun!!!!!!

Happy Father's Day

A big Happy Father's Day to my favorite dad: Rhys. Other notables include Grandpas Ken, Rob, and Mark, and Great Grandpas Norman (Ole) and Dick.

(The shirt says, "My dad is RAD". Which is true. Thanks to Elise for the shirt, too!)

This new backpack is great, and now we can look more like an REI-advertisement family.

Mirror image. Almost.

Crazy Naked Time

Do these socks make my butt look big?

I just love crazy naked time.

A classic pose.

And . . . FREAKOUT!

Mountain climbing

Working the crowd

I've never seen a camera before...

Ready to climb mountains - who needs crawling anyway?

Chatting with Auntie Mandy

I showed off my wicked sitting skills today and held a conversation at the same time!!!

And more sitting.

Happy 5-month birthday to me!!!!!

I'm so old.

I'd love to eat those brownies, but I'm still a few weeks away from eating solids.

But, while I can't eat solids, I sure can lick them.

Sorry for the grainy footage, but I only perform such feats (feets!) under the cover of darkness.
